What Is Abuse Project Lullaby in it's definition of abuse states Abuse to be any action taken against an individual or group actual or implied, against that person or groups will and desire. This includes but is not limited to, Emotional, Verbal, Physical and or Sexual abuse. The societal perception of abuse is that of bruises and battered bodies. The trauma of emotional and verbal abuse leave less visible but equally as painful a make on the victim. Sexual abuse has effects that last long and run throughout the individuals life patterns. Such abuse can be devastating to the individual while never manifesting any outward signs.
Likewise society has a great misconception as to what an abuser looks like. They vary in size, shape, color, age and gender does any other segment of our society. There is an every growing number of female abusers causing a record number of male victims and far to many unreported cases of such abuse.
Project lullaby defines as an abuser one how enacts abuse, actual or implied, against an individual or group. It further identifies as an abuser one who is in knowledge of such abuse and remains silent, allowing such abuse to continue. This behavior is just as abusive to the individual or group as the action taken by the abuser.
