What Is Project Lullaby

Project Lullaby is dedicated to the belief that it is never too late for our inner child to rest in the gentle night to the sound of a lullaby. For many, the childhood reality within their memory is anything but gentle and loving. It is fraught with fear and pain. Fear and pain which have served as teacher for many of the patterns of our adult lives. It is the intent of Project Lullaby to, through an integration of cognitive and regressive therapies, help the adult and child minds within each person communicate and thus address those childhood issues with new realities and clearer understanding.

We often hear in our society reasons for personal and family dysfunction, reasons that for some undefined purpose have become acceptable as the norm, "I am an alcoholic because my mother was an alcoholic", " I can't commit to a relationship because, no one ever loved me as a child" , "I was abused as a child, therefore I am allowed to behave in ways that are unhealthy and destructive...."

Project Lullaby challenges this type of thinking as only the beginning of one's survival from our past abuse. Once we have acknowledged our abuse and intellectually dealt with its ramifications we must address the learned behaviors fostered during the times of the abuse and its subsequent interactions. Further we must look at our childhood abuse with the mind and intellect of the adult we now are. communicating those thoughts and realities to the child's mind living within and holding on to the child's reality of our abuse.

Healing the memory of childhood abuse is only the first step in bringing true survival into the reality of someone's life.

Project Lullaby, through its programs of cognitive and regressive therapies, allows an individual total revivification of the abuse trauma, clearing up any memory or clarity issues. With this done, the individual can address with care the memories of the inner child and look at the long term affect it has had on his or her personal function. Then, with the clarity and intellect of the adult mind address those issues both with the inner child and in cognitive therapy working to unlearn any negative or dysfunctional behaviors they currently carry. Project Lullaby works with the individual to create a realistic survival plan and to insure that unhealthy life patterns are broken.

Project Lullaby encourages individuals to enter into and attend, whenever they feel the need, support groups - NOT to continue to address the issues of their abuse, but rather to address the issues in support of their survival - The groups are designed for affirmation. To affirm the positive actions they have taken in their lives, not a negative reminder of fear and pain. It is the clear difference between SURVIVAL AND VICTIMIZATION .
